The afternoon of Oct 23 I drove out to the Marin Headlands and Rodeo Beach to watch the partial solar eclipse. While people were out at the beach, no-one seemed to register that an eclipse was even happening. I saw one other photographer that day and he was shooting surfers. The light was ever so slightly other-worldly and there were amazing clouds in the sky. I have a whole series of cloud shots that look great as BW as well as color that I will share later. The fog started to roll in around 2:30 making the scene even more dramatic, and as luck would have it, shielded the sun just enough to actually view and photograph the eclipse without a special filter. Enjoy!
